Jay Kunkel is Tenneco’s executive vice president, Asia Pacific, responsible for the company’s Asia Pacific Aftermarket operations as well as corporate oversight for the region, including shared support functions and government relations.
When DRiV separates from Tenneco, Kunkel is expected to serve in the same position with DRiV™, pending completion of all required steps and related board approvals.
Kunkel's career includes more than 20 years of experience leading operations for global companies throughout Asia. Prior to joining Tenneco in 2018, he spent five years serving as president, Asia for Lear Corporation. Prior to Lear, he spent eight years with Continental AG in Shanghai as president Asia, and before that, held several Tokyo-based leadership positions with SRP International Group, PwC Financial Advisory Services and Visteon Asia Pacific.
He began his career as a marketing supervisor with Motorola's Semiconductor Division before joining Chrysler Corporation, holding various positions of increasing responsibility during his seven-year tenure.
Kunkel holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from Western Michigan University. He serves on the board of directors of Varex Imaging, a leading manufacturer of medical x-ray tubes based in Salt Lake City, Utah.
