Who We Are
Driving advancements that help people get the most out of every vehicle, every ride, every race, every journey.
Chief Executive Officer
Brian Kesseler will be chairman and chief executive officer of DRiV Incorporated, when DRiV™ spins from Tenneco, pending completion of all required steps and related board approvals. When the company spins, DRiV will be a unique, $6+ billion global aftermarket and ride performance company that will combine the strengths of Tenneco, Federal-Mogul Motorparts and Öhlins Racing, to become one of the largest global multi-line, multi-brand aftermarket suppliers and one of the largest global original equipment (OE) ride performance and braking suppliers to aftermarket, light vehicle and commercial vehicle customers.
With more than 30 years of experience in the automotive industry, Kesseler is a seasoned corporate leader who currently serves as Tenneco’s co-CEO. He originally joined Tenneco in 2015 as chief operating officer and was named CEO in 2017.
As the company’s CEO he oversaw the acquisitions of Federal-Mogul and Öhlins Racing and the plan to separate the company into two new purpose built companies – an aftermarket/ride performance company (DRiV) and a new powertrain technology company (Tenneco). Upon the closure of the Federal-Mogul transaction in October 2018, Kesseler became Tenneco’s co-CEO.
Prior to joining Tenneco, Kesseler spent more than 20 years with Johnson Controls Inc., holding leadership positions in all of the company’s business units during his tenure. Most recently, he served as president of the Johnson Controls Power Solutions business, which supplies more than one-third of the world’s conventional batteries to major automakers and aftermarket retailers and was responsible for strategy development and execution, technology initiatives and operations.
Kesseler began his career with the Ford Motor Company in 1989 and worked in North America Assembly Operations for five years, in various manufacturing management roles.
Kesseler holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from Michigan State University and an MBA from Baldwin-Wallace College. He currently serves on the board of the Eli Broad College of Business at Michigan State University.
